About the Author - CATRICE A. WELLS

Catrice A. Wells, the author of “When Heaven Went Public: The Stock Market Parable”, has been a stockbroker with major Wall Street investment firms for more than 12 years. For seven years she worked for A. G. Edwards & Sons, one of the oldest and largest brokerage firms in the country. After working as the Head Stock Trader and Mutual Fund Coordinator for private money manager Louis Holland, who is a regular CNN and “Wall Street with Louis Rukyser” guest, she worked as a research analyst for Zacks Investment Research and later as a financial executive for Citibank in Chicago, IL. She founded her own NASD and SEC member firm, Johnson Wells Investments, Inc. Throughout her years in the investment industry she has been a popular television and radio correspondent and host for various stock market programs including Chicago’s UPN television program “The Stock Market Observer: Ask an Expert”.

She has worked as the assistant financial advisor for the International Church of God in Christ investment portfolio in Memphis, TN. She currently conducts investment seminars and workshops for churches and other organizations as president of Johnson Wells Investment Company located in the Chicago area.

In August 2001, she received a six-figure job offer to work with a business colleague located at the World Trade Center in New York City. She initially accepted the position in New York with a start date of the first week of September 2001. After praying, she felt a warning from the Lord regarding her move to New York saying: an event would occur that would impact the world and accepting the position would place her in the middle of it all. Though she did not fully understand, she changed her decision and stayed in Chicago. Two weeks after declining the job offer, the 9/11 terrorist attack occurred. Unfortunately, her business colleague was making an investment presentation with a team of three others in Tower One on the 102nd floor of the World Trade Center. He was killed along with the other three team members; his body was never recovered.

Catrice Wells has been a Christian since age five. After graduating from a private college preparatory high school in New Lenox, IL, she attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa , OK where she received a B. S. Degree in Finance. She worked on staff for Oral Roberts’ daily television program, “Expect a Miracle.” She was also a recipient of the Charles Harrison Mason Scholarship. She has worked as a missionary in Ghana , West Africa and also in Mexico , and has been a delegate and member of the Model United Nations Committee for Economic and Finance. Catrice, a native of Illinois , has worked with youth groups and has also served as a church organist and pianist.
